Thursday Weekend Primer, Week 10

After another great weekend, week 10 has lofty standards to live up to. Fortunately November brings to us hope of another repeat of last year as many of the top teams still have yet to play each other. If November of 2008 is to mirror November of 2007, keep an eye on these five games or you’ll surely miss out.

Week 9 Heisman Ballot

It’s amazing how life can get in the way of things. Yesterday ended up being very busy for me, as the final days leading up to any wedding can be, so I didn’t get to my Heisman ballot like I had hoped. Thanks to an incredible performance in a huge game, and a lackluster performance by last week’s leader, there’s a new name at the top. How does the rest of the top 5 shake out? Find out inside.

Week 9 came and went and another exciting week is now in the books. The top 3 all passed their tests and the national title picture is no clearer than it has been for the past month. Wednesday Weekend Primer, Week 9

As we move later into the season you find that the highly rated teams are usually there because they have avoided other highly rated teams. Well, starting with this week we will see a dearth of highly rated teams begin to play each other as the cream of the crop really starts to rise to the top. Week 8 Heisman Ballot

Just like last week, this week’s Heisman ballot features many changes. It still remains quarterback heavy, but there is a new leader and an old leader has fallen off the map entirely. October 21 Top 25

With the lack up upsets at the top of the polls last week, most of the top 15 stays the same.  The last 10 spots though are a virtual free for all where just about any one of those teams having a claim for the 16th spot.  Despite the realtaive “excitement” that seems to be an every other week occurance, there was still some inetersting movement in my poll this week.

Thoughts on the Weekend, Week 8

Week 8 of the college football season didn’t feature the upsets that we all love, especially in the top 10, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t plenty to glean from it. The #1 team faced a test at home coming off of an emotional game, points were put up in Conference USA like it was Arena League, and the little guy darling went down hard on Thursday night.

Post Week 7 Heisman Ballot

In light of losing track last week of where we were in the college football season, I’ve decided to change up my title wording a bit. Regardless, as for the actual content to be featured here I think you’ll find that for the first time all year you’ll find some actual shakeup in my ballot. With two of the favorites going head to head, and the third of the clear favorites having one of his worst games in two years things are certainly more interesting at the top.

Top 25, October 13 Edition

At this point in the season you have to start to respect the undefeated teams regardless of conference, this week all 10 teams that are undefeated have a spot in my top 25. As for the actual results, last week featured three upsets in my top 5, six in the top 25, and another half dozen who didn’t play at all. With only 13 teams winning there was plenty of shakeup in my poll, even at the top.
